We often focus on large, expansive projects but smaller, more intimate applications can really bring out the best qualities of a lighting fixture. This month's photograph proves that not all illumination needs to be over-the-top to be effective.

The Lobos Ridge Residence located in Carmel-by-the-Sea, California offers spectacular views of the Carmel Highlands, Carmel Bay and the Santa Lucia Mountain range. The building includes passive solar design elements, radiant heat and low voltage lighting and has been featured in a book by Claudio Santini and Dafna Zilafro.

The historic Hollywood Hotel Bel Air was transformed by two years of renovation and expansion in 2009. Among the many new amenities were over 100 Classic High Light path lights from TEKA Illumination.
