California has been consistently recognized as a major international tour de force in viticulture.  Within that diverse industry J. Lohr Vineyards & Wines has been consistently recognized as an artisan-level producer and as a green winery-business pioneer.  Pairing TEKA Illumination products to light their Paso Robles Wine Center is a match made in heaven.

The J. Lohr story began over thirty years ago when Central California was just beginning to emerge as a reputable wine producing region. The Paso Robles arm of Lohr, which was started in 1988, is dedicated to Cabernet, Merlot, Syrah, Petite Sirah and other red varietals and includes a whopping 2,000 acres.

J. Lohr are known for award winning wines (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic versions) but also for their support of mammogram screening through their Carol's Vineyard program.  The company was also awarded in 2010 certification from the California Sustainable Winegrowing Alliance which establishes statewide criteria for sustainable winegrowing practices.  Lohr won the certification because of their 3 acre, single-axis tracking solar system which produces 75% of their electricity needs.

The company also actively promotes water conservation, has set water timers and "outlawed" the continual washing of grape skins off concrete.  Since 2003, Lohr has cut down their water use from 3.5 gallons of water per gallon of wine by 31%, down to just 1.1 gallon of water per gallon of wine produced. The company utilizes labor weeding practices to prevent pesticides from tainting water supply, composts skins, seeds, stems and pruned vines from previous harvests and grows cover crops to improve water absorption. They utilize variable sequencing drive pumps andhigh pressure low-flow water nozzles for irrigation.

The Paso Robles Wine Center exterior is lit by numerous TEKA Illumination luminaries that include two Schooner Path Light (SCP) fixtures, two Tower Beacon Bollards (TWB) and seven Beacon Wall Mount (BWM) fixtures.
